Our Story
In July of 2024, our daughter Madelyn was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 5 years old. Like many families facing this diagnosis, we were suddenly navigating an entirely new world — one filled with constant monitoring, sleepless nights, and the heavy weight of trying to get it all right.
We quickly realized how overwhelming it was to be tethered to our phones, checking glucose levels every few minutes just to feel in control. We needed something simpler — something always visible, without extra steps. That’s when we reached out to Madelyn’s uncle, a computer programmer, to see if this was something he could create. He understood the vision and helped bring the display to life.
The Glucose Display has since become a fixture in our home — literally. It sits on our living room mantle, showing us real-time Dexcom data at a glance, with insights for the past day, 3 days, and 3 weeks. It helps us act faster, understand patterns, and breathe a little easier. When we travel, it comes with us. It’s become an essential tool in helping us care for Madelyn — and in empowering her as she grows up with T1D.
We built this display out of necessity, but we’re sharing it because we know we’re not the only family who needs it. Our hope is that it can support other parents, kids, and caregivers in making daily life with diabetes just a little more manageable — and a lot more clear.
